The COMPAQ Heat Shrinkable Protective End Caps are designed to provide secure, temporary insulation and sealing for live or unused bushings in Ring Main Units (RMUs), Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS), and other medium voltage equipment.
These end caps are manufactured from thermally stabilised, cross-linked polyolefin, which shrinks to form a tight, weatherproof seal that prevents moisture, dust, and environmental contaminants from entering the bushing interface.
Engineered for ease of installation and removal, they offer convenience during storage, transportation, installation delays, or maintenance periods — without compromising dielectric integrity or mechanical protection.
Seals out water, dust, and condensation to preserve dielectric performance.
Requires only a gas torch or hot air blower; no adhesives, clamps, or special tools needed.
Suitable for short-term installation delays or long-term outdoor protection.
Shrink-to-fit design accommodates a variety of RMU and GIS bushing profiles.

Can be removed and reapplied for testing, inspection, or reconnection.
