Product Overview
COMPAQ CHJ-Tx Heat Shrink Transition Cable Joints are designed for connecting three-core Paper Insulated Lead Covered (PILC) cables to three-core polymeric insulated cables such as XLPE or EPR in medium voltage distribution systems up to 36kV.
The joints utilize proven heat shrink technology to restore the electrical insulation, stress control, metallic screening and environmental sealing of the cable system while providing a reliable transition between legacy paper-insulated cable networks and modern polymeric cables.
Suitable for draining and non-draining PILC cables, the joints are fully screened, moisture sealed, directly buried and designed for underground distribution networks. They are compatible with both mechanical shear bolt connectors and compression connectors, making them suitable for utility, industrial and infrastructure applications.
Engineered to provide a reliable electrical and mechanical connection between Paper Insulated Lead Covered (PILC) and XLPE/EPR cables, making it ideal for network upgrades and cable replacement projects.
Manufactured using field-proven heat shrink technology that delivers dependable insulation, electrical stress control and long-term environmental sealing for medium voltage cable systems.
Advanced sealing components effectively prevent moisture ingress, ensuring long service life even in direct buried and water-prone installation environments.
Compatible with both mechanical shear bolt connectors and compression connectors, allowing installers to select the most suitable connection method for the application.
Specifically developed for underground medium voltage distribution systems and suitable for direct burial, ducts, tunnels and other demanding installation environments.
Manufactured from high-quality polymeric materials that provide excellent resistance to electrical tracking, UV exposure, thermal ageing and environmental stress, ensuring dependable performance throughout the service life of the cable network.
